We are getting closer and closer to opening day of Upick 2017! After the damage to the plants last year, any continuing disease risk and the wacky winter/spring we had this year, we weren’t sure what would happen. The angustifolias are coloring nicely and the intermedias are coming along! However, the field won’t look like it did last year – there are empty spots and spots of damage. What does this mean? There will be enough blooms for Upick, but we think there won’t be enough for production levels (enough left over for us to use in products). But we will see as the bloom progresses.
