Upick 2016 Recap

June 4th, 2016 is a date that will always be burned in my mind.  It was our FIRST Upick and it was AMAZING.  The two biggest surprises were: we expected 2,000 people and had 8,000 We still had lavender left!!! The attendees were great and our families and volunteers were outstanding.  Thank you to everyone! We have big plans for Upick in 2017 and we’ll have more Upick days.  Watch

To prune or not to prune?

Pruning – what is it? When you cut all the blooms off of the lavender plants, that’s harvesting.  Pruning is something different.  Pruning is necessary to keep the lavender plants in producing shape.  A lavender plant doesn’t have to be pruned to live, but pruning is extremely beneficial. Lavender is a woody perennial, so as it grows, the old growth turns hard and woody.  The new growth is green wood
